The Thunder Bird Sisters are singer - songwriters whose music is inspired by Native American traditions and their concerns with the social issues that face their people.
They are the grandchildren of Chief Thunder Bird who revived the Shinnecock traditions on their reservation near Southampton.
They won a Native American Music Award (NAMMY) as Best Folk Group of 2000.
